Highland Rivers Health’s new residential addiction recovery program for men opened its doors in November. The Jasper-based Highland Recovery Center is modeled after Highland Rivers’ successful women’s outreach program in Rome, and can accommodate up to 20 men at a time for an average stay of six months.

A holistic program, the new center promotes long-term addiction recovery while increasing residents’ quality of life through the development of life skills, education and community involvement. Residents will take part in traditional 12-step programming, as well as evidence-based groups, individual and group therapy, family therapy, nature therapy, art therapy and addiction psycho-education.

Clients participate in wellness education and exercise and have opportunities to work or volunteer in the community, and earn their GED.
